Help feed 20,000 people daily

Every Ramadan, our target is to provide at least 20,000 Iftar Meals daily

In 2020, we are provided Iftar Meals in:

  • MASJID AL AQSA

  • JAMMU & KASHMIR (IHK)
  • SYRIA

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.”

Ramadan Reminders

Ehsaas also accepts the following:

Zakat-ul-Fitr: $8 per person

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordained Zakat-ul-Fitr to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions and, to provide food for the needy. It is accepted as zakah for the person who gives it before the Eid prayer; but it is a mere sadaqah for the one who gives it after the prayer. [Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah]

Obligatory for every person to pay before Eid prayer. Remember to pay on behalf of any children or elderly members of your household. The amount of fitrah is the value of one meal for a needy person ($8.00 per meal). The earlier it is paid during Ramadan, the better, as Ehsaas field offices shall spend your Zakat-ul-Fitr funds on the day of Eid.

Fidyah: $240 per month

Payable for a person who has become extremely weak due to old age or disease, has no hope of recovery and cannot fast. They must feed a deserving person twice a day or give the value of the meals. Your doctor will be able to advise you on the nature of your illness.

Kaffarah: $480 per month

Payable for a person who has broken a fast in Ramadan without a valid reason and they are unable to fast for 2 months continuously with no break in between. They must feed 60 deserving people two meals a day for 1 month or give the total value of the meals. All missed/broken fasts still need to be made up.
